Riders of Rohan

Fast and narrow singletrack with lots of turns, rocks (both large and small loose ones) and little room for error. A tumble here will throw you straight into the trees! It's a lot of fun and it is one of the longer trails around Canmore - although it only takes about 5 minutes to get down.

Trail Directions
Go past Nordic center to Smith-Dorien Highway #40 up to the reservoir. There is a gravel parking lot just past the entrance. You can ride up from the town, but the road is very dusty and there are lots of cars on it. Proceed across the gravel road at the front of the reservoir to the fence. You will have to climb over it, this is easier with a buddy. Go straight until the road ends (about 200 yards) then take the trail to the right up to Riders of Rohan---it's all down from here..

Summary:
Fun and fast !!! This trail is best done fast. A few small rock hits and twisty singletrack. The top half is solid ground. The bottom half puts you in some loose rocks. All good fun. It ends on a powerline road. You can either go left and climb a bit to make it to the nordic center. Or go right and end up close to pirate trails. Get a Map from the bike cafe, all the good ones are on it.

Recommended Route:
Only way is over the @#$%^&* fence at Whitemans Pond.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Nectar Noodle, Devonian Drop
