Cross Country Rider Summary: The Moosepackers! version of this ride is soo good. Start at Station Flats and ride the first half of Sulphur Springs to get to the road. From there it's 6 [7?] km to the top, then up and over to the switchbacks. Out of the switchbacks to a right turn onto Tom Snow, fly down through the woods and then get that last miserable climb out of the way and you're only a short ride away from Station Flats. Technically, it's not super challenging except for the scree before the switchbacks. Definitely take extra tubes for the DH, and maybe an extra lung for the climb. A variation of this ride is Special K, but I can't remember where the turnoff is. If you're quick on the climb, you can do this loop in less than 2 hours without shuttling. Recommended Route: Station Flats > Sulphur Springs > Moose Mtn road up > switchbacks > Right on Tom Snow > Station Flats Other recommended trails in the same area: Pretty much everything out of Station Flats is good

, from Calgary Summary: I am not used to climbing so the ride up was HELL. It was worth the hour and a half it took to get up though. The Switchaback section was really fun, but the best part had to be the section after that. You could get flying through that section. It was a blast.

, from Okotoks Summary: I went off today looking for a new ride, and i came across moose mountain, not knowing what to expect i ventured up the gravel road to the trail head in my little VW Rabbit and head down the trail, beautiful views and scenery, the downhills are wicked, and the hill are a total work out, if a bit on the rocky side. Once at the top of the mountain take in the view and head back down the wicked switch backs, and along the rad trail. But pack a spare inner tube, because i blew mine just down the second switch back on some jagged rocks. but ride fast and hard. Recommended Route: highway 66, or through Mclean creek, whatever. Other recommended trails in the same area: great fun....
