Downhiller Summary: Good scenery. Fun trail. If you are used to riding the coast don't expect a technical romp, but come with a good camera and enjoy the fun riding. Other recommended trails in the same area: All of them

, from Calgary Summary: Fun single track, roller coaster feeling after the scree section. Most rides in the Calgary area have you ride up a mountain and then come screaming back down, which is great, but this type of ride sure is nice for a change. I have done this ride with beginners and experts. Some beginners are pretty pooped after the first little uphill and all beginners are quite timid when crossing the scree slopes. Experts typically love this ride the whole way. Remember that you have to turn around and that you have to save some energy, as the climb back up the scree can be quite hard if you've been pushing hard. Remember: a well tuned bike can make a big difference. Visit Quick Fix in Calgary and we'll get your bike performing flawlessly in 3 days or less. We're just south of Downtown on Macleod Trail. Other recommended trails in the same area: Skogan Pass, Jewel Pass, Baldy, Kananaskis 8

, from Calgary Summary: Rode this trail for the first time and believe it will become one of my favorites. We started the trail in the parking lot and rode for about 14km to the warden's Lookout. There is only a couple of steep hills for leg burn but lot's of technical as the trail is very narrow, made up of shale and lot's of jagged rocks to test your abilities. Make sure you are prepared with a couple of tubes and other maintence equipment as it is a long walk back. Recommended Route: As already mentioned Other recommended trails in the same area: Moose Packer's KICK'S ASS..........and finish the day at Sulpher Springs.

, from Calgary Summary: Lake Minnewanka is one of the nicest single tracks available in the Calgary area. The trail only lacks two things, not enough vertical rise, and it's not a loop. Given that this is one great undulating trail. How hard is it technically? That one always perplexes me - if you crank this trail hard enough count it as advanced, if you crank it slower count it as no more than intermediate. The rock scree on the trail provides some nice technical climbing and technical descent, the rest of the trail has just enough roots exposed to make you think twice about the line you pick. I only give it 4 stars cuz' it's not a loop, if it were it would be 5. Recommended Route: There's only one.

, from Regina, SK Summary: This trail starts off with a pretty exhausting climb, but once you start heading down, look out. Since this trail has bike and pedestrian trafic going both ways be careful. The narrow trails and steep side slopes make for a hair rising ride. Once you get past the first climb and downhill you settle into some saweeet singletrack. The odd creek or rockfield crossing is technical nough that you need to be careful, but you definitely don't need to be an expert. (Heck if I rode it!). Lastly, don't forget to watch your kilometers and save enough gas and leave enough time to get back to your lot before dark. Recommended Route: See above Other recommended trails in the same area: Try the ride from Canmore to Banff and back (Banff trail?). It's a good challenge, but isn't all that technical.
