Ridden Trail: Every few months

, from Calgary Summary: This is by far the best ride I've done in the rockies! It offers it all.. the uphill is a killer, the technical at the top will test your skills and the downhill...well..the downhill will test your brakes (if you choose to use them). Definately a must do. Recommended Route: Definately do it like the description says.. if you do, you get it all! Other recommended trails in the same area: Powderface Ridge, Moose Mountain

, from Valemount Summary: The climb is completely rideable but offers plenty of challenge. The ridge at the top is great and the views arespectaculaur. This is a must ride if your in the area Recommended Route: Start on the far south and add in Cox mountain for a great ride Other recommended trails in the same area: Be sure to add in Cox hill. The second climb is tough! Add food and a jacket to your riding gear it can get cool up there

Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

, from St. Albert, Ab Summary: The switchbacks starting at the south trailhead are a killer. But once you get to the top, the view is spectacular. I've only ridden this trail once, but whenever I think about it I get goosebumps. This is by far the most adrenaline packed cut I have cycled. It is quite rocky, so bring a spare tube and patches.

Ridden Trail: Once a month

Reviewed by: seti
, from Calgary Summary: I've done both the full loop as well as taken the summit trail. IMHO the summit trail is more rewarding. The downhill is a mixed bag of goodies. Some fast single track, some more technical rock garden areas, some wide stuff through the woods...and some fast switch backs. Watch your speed on the switch backs, a few turns are sudden and can put you in the woods at a high velocity, not an appealing proposition, take care. Watch for hikers. Recommended Route: park at north jumping pound trail head > ride south on powderface trail > take the summit trail > ride the ridge going north > left at fork (right is cox hill) > back to north trail head

, from Calgary Summary: A fantastic, hardcore ride. SOme technical sections, on top of the ridge. A fantastic view of the foothills to the east, amazing views of 1000s of peaks to the west. I prefer to do Jumping Pound and CoxHill, but be warned. Bring a spare lung. The full double combo is 36km (?) and 11,000 feet of climbing. For us mortal humans, try starting at the north end of Coxill and rude the gravel road south. About half way along Jumpingpound, there is a trail on the left that climbs to the middle of Junping Pound Ridge. When you get there, turn left and you can still summit Jumping Pound and ride Cox Hill, with a few hundred less switchbacks. I only wish I could put more than 5 flaming turds. Either way, please watch for hikers and uphill riders on the way down. Recommended Route: I prefer to warm up on the gravel road (vs starting with switchbacks and ending on the road). I start at the north end of the ridge, or the north end of Cox Hill, if doing both! Otherwise follow Yannick's route. Other recommended trails in the same area: Cox Hill (Hardcore), Moose MOuntain (slightly less hardcore), Suplhur Springs.
