Mount Erskine - Penang Hill trail

It is most an uphill trail to the top of Penang Hill. It then leads to Tiger Hill for DH for those who still don't have cramp legs. Excessive climb by foot when crossing to the foothill of Penang Hill. The climb to the top of Penang Hill is on tarmac. Steep climb. Beginners will need several stops before reaching the top.

Summary:
This is a popular trail for Penang bikers, especially in the evenings so keep your eyes and ears open for fast moving traffic. The climb is reasonably challenging but the return downhill is a blast. Lots of jumps, logs, launchable drops and a few rock sections to keep you on your toes. Tropical storms also mean that familiar sections can change appearance and nature very quickly. This is a trail that is constantly evolving. If you have the time it can be worth exploring some of the smaller side trails often used by hashes. Some of them can be pretty intense.

Recommended Route:
Mt Erskine wet market to the top of the rideable or section or continue (hike-a-bike) to the jeep track up Penang hill. Lots of opportunities from there

Summary:
This Trail is Amazing the Rollercoaster midway up the trail is probably the best place to get your adrenaline flowing or the jumps at the top.
This route is also great to burst your tyres on so bring a tire fixing kit.

Summary:
This is a very interesting track... Why? Keep reading...It takes you about 30mins (average rider) to reached the "play ground" that have five jumps that guranteed will pump your adredaline rush to the max!
Make sure you passed a wooden table as you climb, go further you will reached the place.
Nothing special to discuss about the the climb, it is a relatively easy track to climb uphill.
Another excitement is going downhill, you will find a combination of high speed braking and a little bit of technical downhill. Also, there are a few dropoffs that you can really go at fullspeed and land safely.
All that I can say about this track is Marvelous.

It is at the back of the chinese temple at mount eskine.

Summary:
I tried the behind-the-temple route and it kicked my ass! He's not kidding when he says "beginners will have to stop". Granted, I just got off a plane after a 20 hour flight but still.....You've got over 2500 feet of climbing through the jungle. There's some near veritcal hike-a-bike sections for the tough part. On the great side, there's some very cool waterfalls and one smashing great downhill section through a creek with 1/2 meter dropoffs every 3 meters or so. Practicw wheelie drops! If I was in better shape and rested, I would take off from the trail at the back of the temple, stay left and ride up to the jeep trail, stop at all the rest stations (just kidding), take the jeep trail to the top, rest a good long time in the cool breezes, go north until you get to the downhill. Follow the downhill and stay to you left. Best section is through jungle where you can't see the trail because the leaves are so thick! P.S. Your brakes are gonna get hot! My thanks to Tham Chee Soon who is a great rider with huge legs and lungs! He da' man!!!

Recommended Route:
Get a guide first. Take the tram to the top. Follow the road left(north)until you see the second trail on your left. Follow the trail. If you end up in someones yard, you missed a turn. Follow the second jeep trail downhill past Air Itam.
