Summary:
Mr Pak is the best bike shop near Osan AFB, the first floor is unsuspecting with tons of cheap Lespo and Next Korean bikes but the second florr has all the good stuff you'd expect at a good American bike shop. Prices are a bit steeper than back in the US, but it beats ordering online from the US and waiting a week or two for the mail to arrive... If you need it today and can't wait for it, buy it at Mr Pak. If you become a regular and bring in more customers he will hook you up with some sweet deals. I've brought in a few friends who bought a couple of nice bikes and tons of $$$ in gear, so hook me up with a great deal on a new Stumpjumper. He is the best wheelbuilder south of the 38th parallel and will lace your spokes overnight for a good price. Bike labor is cheaper in Korea than in the states, so getting a tune up at Mr pak won't cost you anywhere near $100 like some shops in the states. Like one reviewer said, avoid Jack's Bikes in Songtan (also in Anjeong-ri oustide Camp Humphreys). I went to Jack's looking for derailleur cable end caps and they had no idea what I was talking about. They also had no idea what a lock-on grip was and wanted to sell me cable housing when I asked for Shimano brake hoses. Mr Pak knew all that and if he didn't have it available he could get it in next day.

Recommended Route:
Follow the directions from other reviewers.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
No other bike shop like Mr Pak's outside of Seoul.

Summary:
Go buy and see Mr. Park, he's a good person to know over there. I was stationed at Osan pretty much all of 2004. Mr.Park always treated us good and really cleaned up his shop from when the previous reviewer was there, upstairs is a show room now. He did have a little different technique for working on bikes but he always backed everything he did and would warranty it. He did haggle with us several times and we got pretty good deals but between my friends and I we dumped some cash there that year. Stop in and say hi to him, check out the trails nearby too. If you get in good with him he will offer his son to go ride with you and show you around, I was offered but ran out of time. He is the best person for bikes and parts in that area...and avoid JACKs bikes (outside main gate and to the right) he jacks prices way up! Enjoy Korea...great place!

Summary:
OK, I know what your thinking. Why is A bike shop on a trail page? A one year tour in the ROK doesn't leave much time for finding trails let alone a bike shop to get some tubes and lube. I have had so many people ask me where it is and what's available. Hope this helps folks that are already here or on their way. Mr Park can get anything you need and he speaks pretty good english. Carries Trek, Specialized and of course Korean makes. After asking him several times for some degreaser, he got the message and now has a full "Finish Line" product display. He also can order stuff from Seoul and get it in a day or two. Don't expect low bike prices or any haggling like you can with a stateside shop. You can get a few good deals, like $12 for Shimano SPD cleats that are $20 in the bike catalogs. His shop is close to the well know Brown Mt. trail and he can give you directions. The AAFES taxi will even take you there for about $4. A word of caution, avoid letting him doing any wrenching on your bike. I once saw him use a 5 pound hammer to straighten out a crank arm and pliers to bend/adjust an XTR V-brake. Cringe!

Recommended Route:
Once you have posted directions wired, try you luck at cutting through all the back streets back to base. Fun stuff.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Brown MT, The Red Paved Trail, Moo Bong Temple.
