Ridden Trail: Every few months

, from Penang, Malaysia Summary: I have been to Sedim for about 7 or 8 times and every time i am there, I really enjoyed myself. I have started my ride from the picnic area, up to the River Bank trail. This is an awesome ride in-ride out trail. You ride in with a good climb and u ride out with some technical downhilling. Crossing the rickety bridge, u can start the Cobra trail, which later joins the race track and a few other various trail, making Sedim a very big loop. I must say that this must be the best trail I have ever ridden in Malaysia's northern region. Facilities available are such as a campsite, toilets, food/fruits and drink stalls, a nice stream ideal for white water rafting and picnicking. Now, after riding the trails a few times, I found that Sedim has a nice forest smell of its own. This trail is simply fascinating if u don't mind a few leeches. This trail is very shady too, constantly under foliage. I find myself visiting this trail over and over again. Recommended Route: To be more exact, take the BKE when u are in Seberang Jaya and head past the High Tech Park into Karangan. After Karangan town, be on the look out for the Kg Sedim signage. Other recommended trails in the same area: Have yet to ride Ulu Paip, but there is the Padang Cina XC trail, a ride in the estates of Oil Palm and rubber trees.

, from Langkawi, Malaysia Summary: The trail was cooling even in the afternoon and very refreshing ride. The waterfall around the area was nice. There are a few loops ( I've heard ) and the one we I tried was nice and not too tough. Trails are quite visible and terrain is kind. Recommended Route: I have only tried the trail over a broken wooden bridge.

, from Penang, Malaysia Summary: You will find Sungai Sedim is suitable for all levels of riders. The race track is awesome for speed racing. the 15km has the sweetest technical descents you will ever dreamed. The best trail "discovered" in northern Malaysia so far! Recommended Route: The 15 kilometer "secret" trail that will lead to the peak of the Bintang Mountain. Leech infested so bring along tiger balm! Other recommended trails in the same area: Ulu Mahang logging trail. Kulim High Tech 50km XC trails that run thru sencondary jungle, paddy field, oil palm and rubber estates.

, from Penang, Malaysia Summary: You will start initially with the short steep climb riding over singletracks mostly and thru' secondary forest. It is forest followed by rubber plantation and back into the forest. You will be greeted by climbs followed by downhills and stream crossing. At one point you will even have to heave your bike over a tree trunk. Make sure you go up to the water catchment area. The view of the waterfall is marvelous. The ride view is very scenic, the undulating trails challenging and is very suitable for intermediate riders. Make sure you take out what you bring in and help preserve the forest. The water catchment is by no means to be a dipping or washing place. help maintain the cleanliness of mother nature. Last time we did the trail was with 40 odd riders and we did the ride in approx. 2 hrs. Recommended Route: Upon reaching Sedim, take the left uphill climb. This used to be an old trail bike course. You will see the uphill climb pass a small bridge over the stream. Other recommended trails in the same area: various trails such as Ulu paip (i've yet to go there).
