It's illegal to bike throught the Macritchie track...so beware of rangers...
Untill u reached the Singapore Island Country Club, hit left and cycle till you see the PUB water treatment plant! THEN IT'S HELL! Perfectly legal...slippery sand & mud.
After that, u'll hafta get off n carry ur bike through two BIG water pipe to cross to the other sides. Trail ends when you see a railway, you would be at Bukit Timah, near Beauty World. After which, you may carry on the journey up to Bukit Timah Nature Reserve.(*Beware of used round shells, may puncture tyres)
Go to Macritchie. Hit to the far end of Macritchie, not the trail used by X-country runners. (BTW both tracks are illegal to ride on) Hope that there are no rangers...(Riders usually go uncaught riding this track @ nite, dangerous though, wet & slippery oso rumoured haunted jungle)
Summary: Great ride, with many humps and bumps, after 1 k, carry bike across water pipes and continue, cannot get lost, if you keep left you'll finish at SICC, about 4 km. When you meet rangers, be cool, apologise and you're ok. Most are quite friendly and understanding, works both ways.
Recommended Route: Start at end of Rifle Range Road, and go into walking trail and finish at SICC.
Other recommended trails in the same area: From SICC go into MacRitchie jogging track, and finish at Car Park. Not recommended, on weekends, just too many joggers, walkers and chidren.
