Cross Country Rider Summary: The trail system has now been increased to over 130 Km of single track which has been linked to form an almost continueous ride. More downhill and jump tracks have been added and tracks made further back in the hills to encourage exploration and make for a better adventure. A shuttle bus to the top tracks now runs on weekends and holidays. The trails suit all levels of rider skill and all big jumps and drops have by-passes. There are some structures but not anything like woodhill. Recommended Route: my favorite route goes something like A Trail, Tickler, B Rude not 2, Mad if you dont, Yellow brick road then forest road to Pondy New, Rollercoaster, Old Chevy.
If you want to do a bit more climbing take Direct Rd from the end of tickler to "Frontal lab" which takes you to "Billy T", "national down hill" and the "100 jumps" track. Being more a cross/Trail rider i do Billt T then ride the road to the Split endz track which to me is now the best ride in the park. Fast, flowing and smooth. Great veiws as well.
Always finish on a great little downhill, the "exit" trail. A Map is a must from the info centre at Longmile Rd. Other recommended trails in the same area: Whirinake is a new DOC built 20km loop in a native forest park. It has easy terrian and awesome native forest to ride in. 1hr south east of Rotorua.
Craters of the Moon and Huka falls/waikato rive tracks at Taupo have improved heaps.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Great views, wide range of surfaces from hard pack to loose rocks. Good variaty of trail types from open to more tech. It just bring on a smile as you head for the car park knowing the fun your about to have. Recommended Route: Buy the map ($2) then head up to Diamondback then pick a few more trails to link them together but you must include "Be Rude Not To" this trail has to be ridden to be believed. Other recommended trails in the same area: Do a few events run on these tracks and they ride some in reverse (which you can't do normally), it makes a whole different viewpoint.
Try the 24hr "Moonride", "x-terra", or "n-duro" all well run events.
It's only 1 hr to Taupo for "Craters of the Moon" or Tauranga's "Oropi Grove".

, from Wellington N.Z Summary: All trails are well marked and easy to follow , not to much uphill . For my money the trail "Diamondback " ridden at speed takes a lot of beating . All abilities are caterd for at this location . Recommended Route: Get a map from any bike shop $2.50 . Start with the grade 1 trails and move up as skill and confidence grow. Other recommended trails in the same area: Come to Wellington and ride at Makara peak mountain bike park .
