From Taupo head over the top of the lake past Kinloch and head toward the Western Bays road. Turn left when you hit this and drive for about 10 - 15 mins until you come down a long decline to a bridge at the bottom. The river is called Waihaha. Park on the left just south of the bridge. The track starts on the other side of the road.
