Singapore - Central Catchment Trail
4 reviews
 2.75 of 5

Probably Singapore 2nd official mountain biking trail, since there is a National Parks signboard for this trail, the ride has lots of twists & turns (and many trails to get lost in), plus it is very bumpy. Somewhere in the middle, there's a great hill to climb for a view of the surrounding forest.

Summary:
It was quite an enjoyable trail with sufficient uphill and downhill to make it challenging as well as rewarding enough. Find it easier than Bt.Timah but offer more than enough a wrokout. Even my 11 year son enjoyed it.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Would like ot hear from other Singapore MTBikers where else is fun on Singapore island apart from BT Timah, Ubin.

Summary:
call it a trail if you are beginners learning how to balance your bike. Boring! Go pack the bke, leave the small island, head north, or elsewhere, and experience real trail. Only come back for bike paths!

Other recommended trails in the same area:
none, the next best thing in this small island of nowhere is PIE.

Summary:
It took me an hour to get to Mandai Road and back. Lots of bumps & uphill-downhill slopes to give you a strenous workout but a thrilling ride! As there are many side trails you can easily slip into, be careful not to get lost. Ride in the morning or early afternoon. And look out for National Parks' signboards posted along the trail. Also, since the trail is very muddy and slippery after a rain, it is not recommended for the faint-hearted (and those who hate washing down mud).

Recommended Route:
Take on this trail from the Chestnut Ave entrance. The map is shown on the National Parks signboard. If you decide to follow the recommended route, you'll be coming back here again. Otherwise, you'll end up on Mandai Road (near the road turning into the Zoological Gardens).

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Bukit Timah Nature Reserve
