Pappy's Trail

The first section is a narrow paved road with about 35 degree inclines in some parts, fast and twisty. The pavement ends and you're on a dirt road strewn with rocks the size of fists. You'll get off the dirt road and continue the ride on a horsepath with very deep ruts (it's actually one deep rut for about a half a kilometer), nasty roots and very tight turns. This clears out when you get further down, where you'll build up some more speed. You'll pass a few houses (don't forget to say "good morning" to the locals)and if you see a fork in the path, take the left one. The next section takes on a short but fast fire road the ends on a hill, which if you're in the right gear, is climbable. The road tuns left at the top and you're in for another fast one (lots of jumps here) until another hill stops you. At the top of the hill, you'll find a waiting shed. Continue on the dirt road (more downhill) until you get to the river bed. it's a pleasant 1 kilometer pedal on the river bed. When you see a break in the bammboo trees on you're left, take it. It will put you on a short ride among rice field into town where you hire a jeepney to take you up to Tagaytay. Unless you wnt to pedal all the way up. You can take the Villa Dionisia trail or Ridge 3 going up.

Summary:
We actually hit the trail after an all night heavy downpour. You better be an expert in skidding your tires when you hit this trail. Inclines are so steep that tires wont grip even if you had your brakes all squeeze up. The trail includes lots of hairpin so beware of hitting some houses at the corner. Also lots of Y intersection but they all lead to the same thing. Beware of Horse manure splatting unto your mouth so better have those mudguards installed.
