Arrowtown to Macetown

Mainly 4WD track with 21 river crossings each way. Easy for beginners but fun for the more experienced as well. Can pack camping gear and can camp in disused miners hut, although it can get a tad chilly at night. Tip: Strip and rebuild forks after ride as the river crossings play havoc with Judy internals, or better still hire a bike in Queenstown and enjoy the river crossings to the max

Summary:
Easy wide 4wd road. Not technical at all. Only need moderate fitness. Great on a hot afternoon in the middle of summer. You have to watch out for other users, plenty of 4wd's, motorbikes and other riders around. Its not the most challenging ride but still good fun. Don't ride the rivers, they are full of silt and will stuff anything that turns, really bad on bearings, BB etc. Take your time and enjoy the scenery.

Recommended Route:
Follow the road.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Skipper Canyon, Nevis Valley etc etc.
