Mostly rolling cross country, but some nasty technical sections and a few flights of stairs. Not really for total beginners, but anyone who's fit can ride nearly all of it.

Trail Directions
Take Route 202 out of Fukuoka. Go past Imajuku until you come to the intersection with Route 56 at Susenji. Turn left and then turn left again at Route 49. Go along this a couple of kilometers until you start going up the hill. There's a nearly concealed road on the left, opposite a coke machine and pornography dispenser on the right. About 10 meters in there's a big steel gate across a narrow asphalt road heading into the forest. It's a public walking track, but not a public road. Go to the top of this road (about 2 kilometers) and then take the track on the left, up a steep flight of stairs. The top of the hill is about another kilometer and a half along there. There's some riding and some walking to get to the top. After that, it's all riding.

Summary:
Overall a pretty nice trail if you don't mind a few rough sections and walking one or two bits. 90 percent of the trail is easily rideable, but it is narrow in places, so pays to take it easy the first couple of times. Once you get to know the trail, it's pretty good, and good riders ride nearly all of it on XC bikes. Not really good for beginners, the rough bits are a bit offputting, but for fit riders who don't mind a bit of rough stuff, it's ideal. I took off 1 star because it's a bit of a pain climbing to the top.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Kanou starts at the same place as Takasu. I also recommend Kusenbu for XC riders and Aburayama for downhillers.
