Summary:
Rode for first time since coming to Japan 1 year ago. Ride in early summer is good suggestion if at least two days after rain since clay is slippery oily and very sticky. Rode from Yokosuka near 100 yen sushi ride is almost all uphill. Once at the road it leads up paved road until it gets near golf course. Once at golf course it becomes steps which would probably be impossible if not on down hill bike. There is a golf ball guard over the trail at first that prevents riding next to the steps. Would have attempted steps if clay was solid not slick. Down hill is very steep and ended in pavement.

Summary:
All three routes are unique and you will need to put all three together to get any kind of mileage. Ride late winter while the trail is dry otherwise it can be treacherous. The clay gets very very slick when it is wet.

Route 1 is swooping double track ~ 3km
Route 2 is a hiking trail with some gullies and technical descents. Ride to the castle (or what is left of it).
Route 3 is all about downhill with a thousand small stairs and roots.

Recommended Route:

1. Ride up route 1
2. Out and Back on route 2
3. Ride down route 3 out to HWY 134
4. Ride up the fire road/ hiking coarse from HWY 134
5. Ride down route 3.

Total mileage is about 17km

Summary:
This is an update on my previous review. Since then I have ridden trail 2, this trail is more flowing than trail 3, but still good fun. It has some nice singletrack sections, some erosion control steps and ends with a nice wooded section.

Recommended Route:
Go up the fireroad, and take a right turn at the 5th hill. Then skirt the golf course and go down the stairs. You will come to a fork in the trail. Take the right fork, up the steep rooted hill.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Duck Pond
Futago yama
Tenin trail

Summary:
A great trail, it is kinda uphill to the top of the mountain, but once there it's a blast on the way down! I have only ridden the 3rd trail so far, the one at the yop of the mountain. There is some good downhill sections and it's gets real bumpy on the staircases.

Recommended Route:
Go to the top of the mountain past the watch tower.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Duck pond

Summary:
Followed some locals upto and down route III, The climb is a good leg burner but the chutes & stairs are worth it. The mid-west type packed clay gets pretty slick going up and is slick due to leaves. I would suggest full suspention due to the stairs and good brakes so it dosen't get away from you. Over all a good first trail for an all day ride.

Recommended Route:
Just take the Ogusuyama Ent road and keep left.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Sengen Yama (duck pond)
