Summary:
Steep in places, quite a lot of roots and rocks and drop-offs.
Technical, but flows really nicely, this is a good 45min downhill!

Recommended Route:
Take the main road to the east of the temple to the top. You're heading for the really pointy mountain top, Nakayama Mt. You have to turn left off the main road after a bit, and head through the streets of posh houses - eventually you emerge to the west of the houses onto the trail. It's not that hard to find. You could ride up the trail, starting from behind the temple, but I wouldn't bother. If you make it to the very top, coming back down, you follow a tiny stream for a bit, before crossing the stream. Carry you bike up the small hill hill for 30m, and then its all downhill from here!!! There are a couple of forks, but they all go down to the temple I think.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
In the Kansai area, there are some nice trails and a couple of short but fast downhills in Oji, Nara, behind the Horyuji Temple.

Summary:
wonderful trails.. find your route from the top of Nakayama and you and a good 45 minuite downhill consisting of fast rocky sections to technical drops. A great free trail in Japan

Recommended Route:
Head up either the west or east roads of the park and find your way in. Lots of single track and friendly hikers.
