Mpderate. 20-30 minute climb at the beginning, babyheads and rocky. Downhill fast and long. Watch out for the mountain goats. Road ride back to the car good to spin and cool down.

Trail Directions
Makado, Japan, located in Northern Japan near Mutsu Bay. From Misawa AB, take route 4 or 8 north until you see the Circle K, take the next left at the light, the first right (mountain range right in front of you), go for three miles, take a left at first intersection, and park at the Makado Ski. Start the ride from there, ride up to the Makado Onsen and the trailhead is to the right of the Onsen. Go straight up the hill, you'll get a beautiful view of Mutsu Bay at the top, and then go screaming down for eight miles. Hit the road and ride back to the ski area.

Summary:
One of the best trails in Northern Japan. Not only the Mining Trail, but the whole Makado area. Mt Eboshi is the tallest mountain in that chain, and takes about one hour to climb up and then 13 minutes to scream down.
