The Pipeline

It's a jeep access track for the hydo electric power station water pipes which go straight down the side of the mountain. Its essentialy a downhill, but I handled it on my old rigid, easily on my hardtail, and smoked it on my Enduro pro. Theres some flat stuff at the top, but when you hit the drop, its a launch down the mountain for 25 or so (depending how many rests you have), heart puonding minutes. I've ridden some of the best trails in the world, and I love coming home and scooting down here. There's also a steeper (but slightly shorter) trail on the other side of the highway. Again, ask Beno for details if you're keen.

Trail Directions
Bit tricky, but email benotm@yahoo.com if you need a guide. At the top of the Brown Mountain, there is a sign Welcome To The Bega Valley. Take the turnoff to the 'Fagista'fire trail and about 100m in, look for a track off to the right. It will say 'to Cochrane Dam'. It was actually fallen down last time I was there, so keep you r eyes peeled.

An update to the origonal reveiw I wrote on The Pipeline trail. I've been abroad for a few years, but am looking forward to returning home and zipping down the mountain every week or so. Feel free to email if you're down the far south coast of NSW way and we'd be happy to take you for a spin! Bring your helmet nad pads!

Recommended Route:
Ping me an email and I'll take you along- essentially you ride into the Cochrane Dam at the top of the Brown Mountain and blast down a jeep access trail on either side of the highway!

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Nice ride along the coast down Tathra way. Kianniny to Bournda.
