Summary:
All tracks inside the Mt Coot-tha road i.e. all tracks that start around channel 7 & 9 and finish up either at Simpsons Falls or Slaughter Falls are MTBing on. By riding these tracks you are making it harder for all MTBers to ride Brisbane Forest Park in general. There are just as good tracks starting around channel 9 and others heading down towards Gap Creek Rd carpark - try these tracks instead. If we want to continue to ride anywhere in the vicinity of Brisbane Forest Park these areas we need to be just a little more respectful towards where we can and can't ride. All it takes is a couple or ignorant riders to ruin it for everyone. The reason that we can ride BFP at the moment is that the riders before us were considerate - all that will happen is that area and others like it will become inaccessible to all riders. .....

Recommended Route:
AS Above

Other recommended trails in the same area:
heading from channel 9 towards the lookout, up the next hill on the right.

Summary:
Some open, rocky trail leads to the more technical DH sections. Either side there are: Tight rocky switchbacks, some tree and rock drop-offs, rocky tight single track and thick, sticky dirt in the thicker forest at the bottom.
Warnings: (1) ROCKY! Watch for rocks and thin, short tree stumps in corners. (2) Walkers: a few around, especially on the firetrail at the start. Please be polite! (3) Legality: Not sure here. DH sections, especially right hand fork, look unrideable, so they seem to get little attention.
Basically: A great technical trail that I've learnt heaps on. Have heard it refered to as "Hubbards"

Recommended Route:
Channel Nine is on the Sammuel Griffith ring road on Mt Cootha. Park at the Bottom of Channel Nine near Gatehouse. Head east down firetrail and take second "Eugenia Circut" entry on left. Trail follows rocky walking trail XC for 1/2 a Km before branching at start of steeper section. Right fork is slight steeper and shorter, but both come out at Simpsons Falls carpark.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
There are a few single track trails in here, off the big fire trail that runs east from channel nine. Fire trail itself is fast with heaps of perfectly-shaped water berms to jump, and one steeper rocky section near the end.

Summary:
as above. One of the few remaining technical tracks still left on top of Mt Cootha. The council most likely sees the track as unrideable and i dont think has bothered to declare it illegal for bikes.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Gap Creek Reserve on the western side of the mountain. Lots of new singletrack poping up.
