Mapleton NShore style

Average Rating:    (5 of 5)

No. of Reviews: 2

North Shore style bridges, see saws and dropoffs. sweet technical course - most stuff's resonably big and takes a bit of experience - don't bother if you're a newbie. Unfortunately it's a bit dusty with the lack of rain. Look around the national forest for a bit too - there's some good riding but you've got to look for it.

Trail Directions
Come from the montville side of the ridge, as you head through mapleton turn left at the pub. Turn your next right and just keep going. It's a fair few k's down the road (keep going straight), and it's on the left. If you get to a smallish gulley (with wildlife conservation signs on the left) and you see a bunch of utes, you know it's only about another K up the hill on the left. You might not see it until on the way back - it's a red switchback road that looks like a driveway. Just start there and head to the left - you'll see it soon enough.

Summary:
as good as the daybrough mtb park. this is some of the best riding in aus. the run length is around the 2 minute mark but no relexing here its full on from the start and many subdivisions to take on your next mystery journey. just look after it thats all. and its abit intense for the beginer but you got to start somewhere!

Recommended Route:
coming up from nambour you will see the mapleton pub right in front of you when you get into mapleton. at the pub junction take the road to kenil worth.then take the next road on the right that goes past the mapleton liliponds. follow this road, it turns into dirt and then abit of bitumen then dirt again. just keep going and you should see the sign of a track on your left coming straight on to the road. its a fair way out but longer 15min from mapleton

Summary:
good north shore, steep long tracks good turns, good jumps, bit rocky, bit beyond my skill level, went there on a hard tail, not very suitable but still fun, so many different ways to get to the bottom, to be good funrecommended

Recommended Route:
just go out the dirt road past the cemetry and look for the land for wildlife sign(thats the bottom of the trail. keep going up the hill and you will see a trail on your left just before the top of the hill

Other recommended trails in the same area:
theres alot of cross country like trails and fire trails like the linda garret walking track across from the cemetry
