Summary:
sandy at first, but then there are a billion steps you must walk up and it gets you really fit!
then ride down the other side and there is a nice lookout. keep riding the path and it will rejoin the paved path up the lighthouse. laugh to yourself as you ride past all the cars paying to drive up, and ride up yourself for FREE! then enjoys the veiws and strong winds and roll the paved path back to town with some great high speeds. the road is in two levels, so the road you come back on is one way, which means you have the whole road to use and not worry about oncomming traffic. RAD

Recommended Route:
ride towards the lighthouse from the town on the main road. after a car park on the left is a steep road up to the right. at the top of this short road is a walking track.

Summary:
There has now been a couple of thousand steps built along this trail for thos tourists on foot, which makes for a bumpy downhill ride, and makes climbing back up VERY diffucult. Any way it is a fun ride with plenty of tourists to dodge who look at you funny when you ride down the 1000 steps !!

Recommended Route:
Ride from town to the Lighthouse them down to Watigoes beach, then back to town

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Go on the Rockhoppers tour into the hinterland, although if you are an experienced rider you will be waiting for slow riders alll day.....
