Summary:
Majura is close to the city and varied, Kowen is home of the MONT 24hr, Sparrow hill is flowing and smooth. Canberra has some great riding close to the city.

Heaps of trails in very close proximity to the city and beyond. Mostly XC, but there's some dirt jumps stashes and DH to be found. There's also skateparks, 4X, BMX. Its dry year round and can get very hot, dusty and windy in summer. When there is substantial rain the mostly gravel on clay base trails turn to thick mud. Coastal trail riding destinations are more scenic, but Canbra has the advantage of not having sand based trails that you get a lot of on the coast. There's lots of productive trail elves round the place and it keeps getting better and better. Lets be honest, no other city in Aust even comes close in terms of quality, quantity of trails per capita and ease of access...think i might go hit up the trails now.
