Anaconda, O''Connor Ridge
1 reviews
 3 of 5

On the Western side of O''Connor ridge, the Anaconda winds over loose soil between the highest water tank at the top of the hill and the bike path to the AIS. There''s only about 100m of firetrail and a lot of good singletrack. A great run for beginners but shouldn''t be ignored by anyone else. There''s some tricky rock sections and a good gully crossing (if the rains come). The soil up there is really loose and dusty. A few logs to hop over too.

Trail Directions
Turn South off the bike path that runs between Dryandra street and the AIS. Stay on the fire trail and head as high along the ridge as you can. Once you reach the summit (near the 2nd water tank) head West down the fire trail for about 100m. Anaconda begins on your right, you can't miss it. About 15m in you turn right to head back up the hill, DON'T go left! The track is very obvious from there on in. Enjoy!

Summary:
Sorry, forgot to mention this in the original...

What get's me amped about this trail is that it's about 5km from the CBD! Can't believe that there's some good riding to be done practically in the middle of town. If you ride to work over the ridge you should really take the time to do a lap on your way home, or first thing in the morning... I do.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Dave's Fave - for some ridiculous air.
