Trail Directions
From Hobart City Centre travel up Davey Street (which becomes Huon Road) to the "Big Bend" one kilometer or so short of the Mount Wellington summit. Firetrail starts at a locked gate (designed to keep out cars) and prooceeds some 10kms up and down various fire trails finally reaching Collins Cap. From here proceed across a gently sloping Alpine Plain with Specky views and good undulating riding. the descent becomes steeper before meeting up with Jeffreys Track. Follow this for 500m or so before turning right onto White Timber Trail which winds through some fantastic Mountain Ash forest. After 5km or so turn left onto Stoney point Trail for more rainforest, mud and eventually a fast downhill valley run into the hamlet of Crabtree. From here afew kms by road to Grove on Highway One.

Summary:
Not knowing the area that well my detail will lack but go through the gate just below the summit as decribed and mellow until you hit the downhill, it's pretty rocky but great fun. Barrol down and bring on the smile. (I may do a different track to the one decribed but your options are unlimited). This place rocks on the mountainy and rocks even more if you can get a lift up the hill cause it's a hell ride up. Don't forget the backup car down the bottom!

Recommended Route:
doesn't matter there are heaps of ace options

Other recommended trails in the same area:
instead of going all the way to the summit stop at the springs, which are about 2/3 of the way up and pick your track. If you pick pourly you may find yourself walking but go hard and don't be scared
