After going around the fallen tree, you then roll over or launch off a 5ft high termite mound then start to descend rapidly after negotiating a decent drop off a rock through the cliff line straight into a hard right hander , from here the track steeply transcends down the hill ( there are easier and more difficult lines to take ) halfway down there a couple of different lines to take that include massive launchs and drops off big boulders whilst still descending fairly steeply , track finishes near bottom of Downhill track.
This track is awesome, runs parallel with downhill track though higher , steeper and gnarlier. I have heard that the start of the track where it is fairly flat is going to get some north shore style ramps and skinny bridges etc, and maybe a teeter totter halfway down very soon , all I can say is "If you build it, they will come"
p.s I suggest shuttle runs are the go, that way you can do a couple of runs, or do the downhill , or strathlone , forty bends or any of the other awesome tracks that the hassans walls reserve in lithgow has to offer. ( I love going to lithgow for a days riding !! )
Ride up Hassans Walls reserve rd (next to shopping complex), towards the top of the hill you will see a fire rd go back to your right, follow this through a gate and up a short hill, follow for a couple of hundred metres where you will see a track go off to your right, a single track straight ahead (the famous Lithgow Downhill track) , but follow the fire rd to the left down into a bit of a gully , very short easy climb up the other side and near the top as it goes around to the left take the track to the right which turns into double track and then single track around a fallen tree then it gets exciting !!
Summary: Great track , you learn new skills riding tracks like these , i think this will end up very,very popular paricularly when they build the north shore bit at the top, which would complete it as a full-on freeride. You will need at least 6 inches of travel to do the biggest drops , and make sure your brakes are in good order too.
Recommended Route: follow directions given by Hassans Rocks , I found it easily.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Downhill Track , Strathlone track (take the track that goes off to the right at bottom of steep rocky bit for a better finish to strathlone track , comes out in bursaria st , not far from donnybrook hotel )
