, from sydney Summary: I used to live 800 metres from this track and did it regularly (daily) after work to blow off steam. Its only a couple of kays long and can be done in 10 to 15 minutes. Last time I was down there, in about SEPTEMBER 2000, The local council had done a lot of work on it to make it more walker friendly... there is even a bridge across the creek now. This is a good fast track and is also a blast at night. Only one problem, it borders the Collaroy War Veterans home and as such, experiences many walkers. I've never had one complain to me, and I guess a cheery smile and a G'Day goes a long way. Recommended Route: The easiest way in is via Mactier Street, off Pittwater Road. There is a fairly sizable carpark at the end where the road turns sharply up hill towards Collaroy Plateau. At the entrance to the carpark turn hard left and you are on the track. Other recommended trails in the same area: Heaps of other trails on the other side of the lake, around Cromer Heights and also on the other side of the Wakehurst Parkway.
