Summary:
This downhill area kind of sucks because the dirt is extremely low quality. I would say that I had much more fun on snowmass mountain. Oh yeah, and Spencer, some of us don't like carrying 45 Lbs. bikes up hills.

Recommended Route:
lift unless you have a cross-country bike

Summary:
I don't mean to dog Breck too hard, it is my home hill, but it just seems Vail asc. could put a little more love into their trail systems (like having more than 4 trails) if there going to ask people to shell out cash to ride. If you have a choice, I would definately head to keystone or Vail for more selection and more vertical, but if you must, I can only say* Game trail Game trail Game trail*. Some good upsy downsys and a section of great lodgepole singletrack. It's also 4mi. instead of the barely 2mi. of all the others. Dwight's is fun if you hate your bike and like off-camber scree turns ( not gnarly or tech, just stupid). The only other thing I can recommend is maching Swinger to the bottom cut-off and instead of going back to the chair, poach 4o'clock run all the way into town for beer :
Summit co. has so much excellent riding my real advice is to suck it up and actually ride uphill on any of the multitudes of trails right out of town, you'll feel better about yourself and appease the bike gods at the same time.

Recommended Route:
Drive past peak8 parking lot/ ticket window all the way to Keystone. Buy ticket and smile, enjoying the fact that you didn't make the "Main st. mistake".

Summary:
Riding at any ski area is pretty silly, and Breck is no exception. The trails are boring and there are too many gapers from Texas always getting in your way. On the brighter side, there are some nice hidden trails around here. Just don't be a lazy bastard and pay good money for a lift ticket. RIDE YOUR BIKE UP THE HILL, you sissy! The only recomendation I have for here is to ride up the Peak 9 service road to Wheeler Pass, then drop down into Copper Mountain. Now that's a fun ride. I just can't figure out why people come to such a great place like Breckenridge to ride their bikes, then go on the shittiest trails around. Go back country and have a much more enjoyable and less crowded day.

Recommended Route:
Go up and go down.

Summary:
Headed up to Breck to escape the summer heat down in Denver. Lift pass was $9 with a Buddy Pass (if you forget it, they can look it up), $18 without. There's a half dozen trails you can choose from that take you back to the lift you came up. Game Trail, Swinger, and Dwight's are the major technical rides but not hard core (no major drop offs or super-gnarly spots). A good place if you want to take your hard tail downhill but serious downhillers would probably get bored quickly. Game Trail is a very fun, twisty, rocky, rooty, ride with some short uphill portions. Beautiful singletrack in the trees. Dwight's has a good mix of speed sections and tight technical stuff. Swinger is about half way down the hill, but it a good speed run with lots of tight switchbacks and one short but semi-steep section. Overall a good place to take the family or friends trying downhill for the first time and still have some fun rides for yourself. . . There are another dozen or so going to the other peaks but it's a good ride back to the base of Peak 8. One last note; I thought they had a pretty good bike rental + pass deal, $24 half day, $31 all day (front suspension only) Check the web for details. . .
