, from Toronto Favorite Trail: 1 Year Summary: I won this bike in a draw at a 24 event (donated by Misfit Psycles), so no real down side for me. It was my first journey into SS or 29 and I'm sold. I've got better bike control now, and I'm trying things that I only looked at before. Rode it for a season stock and had a blast.
Kudo's to Peter @ Misfit. He patiently answered questions I had and even let me exchange the original frame for smaller one that fit me. Strengths: climbing; stability; sliding dropouts are great for adjusting chain tension Other recommended trails in the same area: none

Cross Country Rider
, from Tucson, AZ Favorite Trail: 3 months Summary: I have done about a dozen rides on this bike now. I wouldn't want to take too much away from the Rig, as it too is an excellent 29er for the money, but the DiSSent absolutely rocks! A lot of care was put into the angles, to make it 29-specific, and it really puts me in the driver's seat. The geometry allows you to sit a bit lower on the big dos-niner wheels and have total control in tight turns. As mentioned earlier, it climbs like a goat (in and out of the saddle). Also, Peter at Misfitpsycles has been very helpful, knowledgeable and willing to take time to answer all of my questions. He built a wheel-set for me over 2 years ago with Phil Wood Kiss-off hubs and WTB Speed-disks. It is still bomb proof after over 2 years of constant, heavy abuse on rocky southwest singletrack. The Misfit DiSSent will not diSSapoint. Strengths: Fantastic climbing and cornering geometry, light, very tough so far (you should see the welds on this thing!) and very cool looking (mine is Raw)! You can't go wrong with skulls on a machine like this. Very reasonable price. I would recommend it for any level of SS 29er rider. Weaknesses: I haven't found any yet. I'll update my review if I do. Other recommended trails in the same area: Gary Fisher Rig, Specialized Epic, ancient Trek 7000
